Sebaceous hyperplasia is a normal sebaceous gland that’s simply overgrown. Unlike traditional ways of freezing which lead to scarring, Dr Holman utilises radiofrequency to destroy the glands without damaging the skin.
Whereas the best way to fix seborrheic keratosis and skin tags is with plasma device, because it doesn’t use heat. No heat disruption to the surrounding tissue means there’s minimal downtime and no scarring. The plasma machine enables Dr Holman to desiccate the tissue on top of the seborrheic keratosis and ‘wipe’ the spot off. This procedure stops at the dermis layer and the new skin grows over as if the seborrheic keratosis was never there.
